The backing is perfect! You both have a good eye for color.

Love the quilt. Great work on the piecing and quilting. Oh, and that's a nice backing too.

I had 3 different different Bridal showers when I was getting married. And then 3 different baby showers when my son was born. Different people different times. So maybe this wasn't the only one she is going to have!

Yup! That's how its done around here - coworkers, friends and neighbors at one shower - then a family shower.

I love the colors! Beautiful quilting!!

Beautiful quilt, and I would be calling a family member who would be in the know and ask when it is. I can't imagine you wouldnt be invited.

That's a beautiful baby quilt. Once I had made a quilt for a babyshower and never was invited....I had stood up in the parents' wedding the year before so I just assumed I'd be on the guest list. I still have the quilt eleven years later. It was all for a good reason, however, since it was the inspiration to try that baby quilt that brought me back to quilting. Prior to that I had only made one quilt in home economics class when I was a senior (many years before).

Mothers don't normally put on their own baby showers, so it may not be her oversight if you're not invited. I certainly didn't throw my own. The quilt is beautiful, and I'm sure she'll love it whether it's given at a baby shower or not.

Thanks for posting the picture of this great quilt. I've been wanting to play with the basic drunkard's path block, and now I know what I want to do. You've provided the inspiration I need.

That is really adorable. I think I too would either call the niece directly or her mother to find out about the shower.

Great choices by you AND your DH! I sure hope they invited you to the shower though...that would be just rude if they didn't!

That's right... the mother of the baby may not know you weren't invited or even been asked who she wanted to invite. If you made the gift in love, then I would give it to the mother regardless. Sometimes a private gift opening is much more special than the "show" a shower can become.

Sometimes I'm happy not going to a shower. They can be so tedious and you get tempted to eat a TON of sugar. Ha, ha.
