I love buttons on quilts. However, I have been cautioned that it may not be a good idea on baby quilts or quilts for toddlers as the buttons may come loose and create a choking hazard. It should be fine for your application.

Buttons or any embellishments sound good to me. It is all personal preference and what you like on your personal quilt.

I used buttons from my Paternal Gr.Mother's button collection on my Crazy Quilt and a wall hanging, and liked it. Quilting is supposed to be our own thoughts and ideas. I did use flat buttons; none with a shank, ect.
    Good luck!

Do Not leave long tails on buttons as tiny fingers could become entangled and cut off circulation.
