:!: I was going through old Christmas cards to make tags for gifts and came across one that would make a great wall hanging. It had three rows of three letters each spelling "CHRISTMAS" with a picture for each letter (C=candles; H=holly, etc.) I have patterns for paper-pieced kind of wonky-looking letters that I thought would be great done with fabric for each letter (C=fabric with candles, etc.). I'll have to start collecting fabrics!

OH, I think this is the way quilt designers start! You may have taken the first step to a new career. Now is the time to buy Christmas fabric, won't be much around by mid year.

If you need patterns for any of the blocks, go to www.quilterscache.com and see what she has. She has a lot of PP also and even ideas for Christmas quilts. I think your idea is great! Can't wait to see it!!

I have a throw that is like that- many years old. I just realized I made it when I only "sewed"- it was quilting! I didn't know it then. Anyway, I'll go take a pic of it and post it. Gosh- it has to be 10 years old. Haven't seen anything like it since.

Don't you just love shopping for that specific group of fabrics. I like the hunt almost more than the end results...

This is a great idea. I don't think I could get it done for this Christmas but it would be great project to have done by next Christmas. I would love to be part of this and see what blocks or wall hanging everyone is working on. Share ideas or maybe help each other over any speed bumps.
