They are not featherweights. they look similar but have a foldup bed towards the machine head. Are not in cabinets either. they had a card table made of wood that had a drop in spot for them. they are a real pretty machine and so is the table. I have both. with the case it onlys weighs about 20lbs. I have all my scissors, bobbins etc in so that if I get stranded somewhere I can sew whioe I am waiting out the storm.

I agree to save them and try to sell them...if they don't sell give them away but definitely don't dump them. They look to be in great shape and worth being fixed...I think the brother is adorable too...

If you can't find a home, I'll come and get them. Quilts Of Honor here in Michigan could use them. They meet once a month and make quilts for returning soldiers. Please, don't throw them away. PM me if you would like to donate them.

I looked up the serial numbers you listed for the singers.
AL 151977 is a 201, allotted in a group of 15000 on October 27, 1952.
AM 222852 is a 15, allotted in a group of 50000 on October 21, 1955.
It looks like you have a great group of machines there. I am glad you decided not to send them to the dump. I have found the older machines more reliable, easier to fix, and in general, great work horses when it comes to heavy duty sewing. When the computers give out in new machines, the old ones are still stitching right along!
I hope you find good homes for all of them. It looks like another charity (Quilts of Honor) might make good use of them.

I had a Singer 66 in a cabinet shipped from Wisconsin, it cost less than $150.00. If you really want a machine and/or cabinet don't let the shipping hinder you. Please learn from my mistake, make sure they take the machine out of the cabinet and ship it separately. I had damage to both the machine and cabinet that had to be repaired. I love the machine and the cabinet makes it very useful, so don't let shipping stop you if see something that will add to your vintage collection.

You have a nice group of machines!! As many here have mentioned, finding homes for these beauties will not be as difficult as first thought. You should also get a fair amount of $ in return for your mission. Good luck!
