Trying to finish up a little wall hanging for Show and Tell at guild meeting tomorrow. I should have known today was not the day to work on much of anything. I woke up with a migraine and, in general, it's best not to drive, operate equipment, use tools, etc....

Center is done. Just got to bind it, right? So I LOPPED OFF THE BATTING EVEN WITH THE EDGE.

And then I looked at it in disbelief. What about the borders??

GRRR. An hour later, I was done zig-zagging pieces of batting, butted up against the edge I'd cut off, and squared it back up. Honestly!!

don't feel bad. I did the same thing & sent mine off to be quilted by a long arm! When I got it back I thought "what the heck, what happened to my borders" so now I'm going to add like a 6" white border & do the 'fold & finish" method on the piece that I add on!

Yup! Some days it is just best to stay in bed!
Glad you were able to fix your project!
Hope you're feeling better!

I found thru a tried and true methodology that migraines and quilting are not compatible. One must be able to think in order to quilt, and the brain simply refuses to function with a migraine. At least you kept at it til you came up with something. I would have given up at that point. Kudos to you.

With a migraine? Forget it, go back to bed in a dark room and a cold pack on your forehead and some codeine in you to kill the pain and tell the cat to stop stomping on the carpet and order the kids to go play on the highway and DH to pick up dinner at the first fast food joint he passes.
NOTHING is badder than a migraine, I had them for a long time, once or more a week for years. And my late DH, that lovely man, stayed with me for the long haul, bless his lovely soul.

I always trim my backing, batting and top even. Always.

I feel your pain, I too sufer from migraines. They seemed for awhile to get better, now they've gotten worse. Mine are accompanied with nose bleeds that they cant explain. Dont be alarmed its inherited trait from my grandmother, and an uncle, we all have the same symptoms. I hide the fact that my nose bleeds from my kids, you know they worry. My son was here the other day, we were talking and out of no where the blood starts pouring. He freaks, he thinks I'm dying. Only from blood loss if anything. Hope you get to feeling better. And a true quilter makes mistakes and hides them well!
