My LQS just closed so I'm forced to buy my thread at JoAnn's or online. I really like to touch the thread I buy but if it's $12.00 a spool, I may have to only dream. Thank you for the link!!

Trythis: http://www.tristan.bc.ca/cart/home.php?cat=38 If you go to the home page: http://www.tristan.bc.ca/ it's hard to find the grab bag page. It will be listed on the left after going to a sale page.

I always assumed Aurifil was the most expensive for piecing but when I did the math, per yard, Superior Masterpiece turned out to be the most expensive. I use a bit of everything and often order on the internet b/c of all the LQSs in my area, none really carry a good color selection of any brand thread, for quilting or piecing/applique.

I haven't ordered from this shop but it is in California and the Aurifil is $7.50 a spool. http://www.nancyrinkdesigns.com/shop/thread.html

Another shop which is cheaper at $5.00 doesn't have all the colors.

I've purchased threads from this eBay store and was very satisfied with the purchase and the store. http://myworld.ebay.com/sunnysidequilts/

I couldn't agree more! I've tried a lot of threads, but now that I've been sewing with Aurifil, I won't try any others. It doesn't fill my machine with lint like other cotton threads. I was astonished the first time I tried it. I have always cleaned out lint every time I sit down at my machine AND every time I change a bobbin. Don't have to do that with Aurifil! If the bobbin area isn't getting filled with lint, I think the areas I can't reach are not either.

I buy from Sue's as well. I have a bunch of Guterman, but my new Janome 6600 doesn't like Guterman and locks up. I'll just have to use it on my Feathrweights because they don't mind it.
