Well you could just about go with any of the others, red, yellow, green, blue. Anxious for photos when finished.

I would make my strips only 1 1/2" wide since your blocks are just 6" wide. The 2" strips might be too wide, IMHO. Beautiful crumb blocks.

I did a quilt similar to this and used a kind of teal blue. I let the kids pick it because it was going to be a pool quilt. The color turned out to be perfect, but certainly not something I would have chosen. So, I guess my point is - try colors you might not expect!

Great blocks! I agree that any color would work. Lay out a few samples under your blocks, take pictures and look at the pictures for a day or two. You'll find your answer.

I think maybe a pale yellow. Something that won't overwhelm the blocks. Great blocks.

A few years back, I took a class w/Bobbie Aug & she suggested red as a color unifier. I have tried several times & it has always worked. Love your blocks. They would look great set w/red.

I take my possibilities and lay them behind the squares on my design board, so that I can see red and green and grey and whatever, all at the same time. What you choose will so change the mood of the quilt, but hopefully something will jump out that shouts YES to you.

Someone probably has already suggested black... I think that's what I might do.
