Cat Design
I recently purchased 2 packets of hexagons from Tula Pink's tabby line. I love them! Now I have the idea of creating a cat from them in the center of a quilt surrounded by solid fabric, but have no idea how to go about it. I have gone on Pinterest and found similar quilts with a black cat in the center facing forward but don't know how to 'translate' that to hexagon shapes. What would you recommend?

If you are willing to sacrifice a bit of them, I might be able to help you. I recently did a rounded shape using 49 little squares. When it came time to make the shape I wanted, I just cut it out and there were little bits that "did not make the cut" to use a sports term. It came out quite nice.

Did you piece them together then, cut out shape, applique them onto a background? A picture would really help. I'd love to see your quilt. Thank you!!

You can print hexagonal graph paper from the internet, then lay a picture or outline underneath to figure out your layout. Here is one link: https://www.printablepaper.net/category/hexagon_graph
Sounds like fun.

Thank you, I'll try to print some out and play around with it!
