fabulous idea. i was just deciding where i could get low-priced flannel for a free-motion quilting class. i don't want to spend too much as these are just for the sandwiches and will be practiced on. now i will try consignment shops. thanks.

Great idea..
Just make sure you don't mix new recieving blankets with older ones.. I think those new ones might shrink..
and if I remember correctly, recieving blankets are pretty small, they only last a very short time and then you can't wrap a baby up in them any longer.. especially when you have 9 pound babies like I did... just a thought.

We are returning to quilting's early days when they used to use salvaged fabric from where every they could get it. Here we are rediscovering the same frugal ways our grandmother's used. We are only as limited as our imaginations.
