Default Choosing when to comment on a thread

Do you read the title of the thread? Look at the poster? Comment on everything you see?
I found myself this morning looking down the page to see which photos had the fewest comments made on them, and adding to those! It's a nice break from the sewing room, which is a mess today.

I read all the posts on the main page along with chit chat, personal and new members. I only leave a comment if there is some knowledge I can pass on to others.

I don't care how many posts of "very cute or beautiful" there are, I add mine. If a person has gone to the trouble to post a picture for us, I think they deserve a comment.

I rarely notice who the poster is, that doesn't matter to me. I post if I have an opinion or know the answer or if the post interests me. I get so many pms every day, it's like reading my own board. LOL

Wait a minute - your sewing room is a mess today? Just today? Sorry, I couldn't resist. Mine is almost always a mess! Some times more so than others!! LOL!!

I post a reply when I feel like I have something to say of benefit.

Me too. If I'm thinking "I don't have an answer for you",or "sorry, can't help" I don't post. I don't look at posters either, just if like Onebyone, "if I have an opinion, know the answer or if the post interests me."

I use the archive view, which lists all threads in descending order by start date of the thread. In other words, newest one first. If you use the regular view, it sorts by latest comment, so you could have a 2 year old thread that someone commented on at the top.
Regular Main view:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1/
Archive Main view:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/sitemap/f-1.html

the board is so active that new threads can get buried. I read all the threads in main and comment if I have something new to add. I usually look at all the pictures, and really should comment more.

[QUOTE=Stitchnripper;7381280] If I'm thinking "I don't have an answer for you",or "sorry, can't help" I don't post. [QUOTE]

What totally baffles me is those that do.

I don't leave comment on too many as I am usually at work and just glancing between projects
