    Nice idea, I might consider using one layer of Insul-Bright and one layer of batting. Easy simple directions for this over sized potholder or trivet. Thanks for the link to the tutorial.

    I've made many over sized pot holders for hot dishes. I use two layers of batting with insulbrite in the middle. No hands, table, or counter will be ruined when heat using them. I do like QuiltingPandaBear. I turn and sew around the edge.

    My casserole hot pad is a small jelly roll rug made of indoor/outdoor fabric. It sits next to the microwave.

    I came across this fast easy project...a fabric trinket/notion tray. There are many more tutorials online, but this is the one I used to make mine out of Christmas fabric.
