Brothers don't need oil they use ball bearing that need grease that your dealer does but not for a long time, which is covered in you servicing. As for the compressed air it is high power and can send lint into parts of the machine that has grease and mess up the bearing. Also the high powered air could break small parts. I hope this cleans up any questions you have on your brothers.

All so the canned air is very cold. Not good on your computer driven machines. Canned air drives the lint and bits of thread into the moving parts. Can cause some very expensive repairs.

Canned air can shoot water vapor into your machine and cause it to rust. I just read that somewhere also not to blow into your machine same reason the little bits of spit :)
