A while ago I noticed that Walmart was getting rid of all their sewing/fabric sections. I was kind of bummed, because every once in a while you could find something really cute for really cheap. Anyway, I ventured to Walmart last week, and saw a sign that said "We heard you- we're bringing it back." There was a small stand of fabric and it looks like there will be more coming. Has anyone else noticed if their Walmart has started carrying fabric again?

Ours never got rid of the fabric. I rarely buy any there though since with a sale or coupon, Joanns is cheaper.

I'm pretty new to quilting, but the fabric I've bought from WalMart seems like it's not as good of quality. But I did get a sewing machine case there, which was reasonably priced and did what I needed it to do.

We never lost ours, just condensed to 1 aisle. Kept the cutting table. Just was in there about 2 weeks ago, moved the fabric dept over a few aisles and looked like the aisle was widened. Had same childrens fabric on bolts. Added some really nice fat quarters. Spoke to a gal that does the cutting and she said most likely later this year, beginning of the year, they are suppose to be adding fabrics back

Sounds like that petition that circulated a while back has worked and now the "powers that be" are finally listening! I hope enough people make it worth their while and shop there. I don't because Joann's is closer and I like the coupons and sales.

The Walmart closest to me brought back the fabric but it's a much smaller section then before and only has the very basics. The Walmart farther away brought it back and the dept is huge! Everything you can imagine for quilting is there. The manager of that fabric Dept is a quilter/sewer. She orders everything Walmart has for the fabric dept. Even has pattern catalogs with bar stools to sit and look through them! Actual size thread cases like Hancocks has. It's all who the fabric manager is.
