Default Clover clips

Do any of you use them? Do you use the “off-brand” clips? Can you tell a difference? I bought ten with a coupon at Joann and used them to bind a bunch of quilts today. I think they helped, and I’d like to buy a few more. I see I can get the off-brand ones on Amazon for about 10% of the regular Joann price.

I love my Clover clips and my family bought them for me on Amazon, they were also so much cheaper than Joann's or even Walmart. At the time Clover was all you could buy - there was a rumor you couldn't be sure they were truly Clover but for that price, I didn't care. Now I see there are other for about $10.00 for 100 - and the ratings are good. For that price I would definitely try them. Twice as much for 1/4th the price - nothing to lose really.

Clover clips have markings on them at 1/4 and 1/2 inch marks? I can’t compare them to my off brand bunch I have since I don’t have both. Mine don’t have markings but they work for me.

I have Clover and the off brands. I prefer the Clover because the off brands break apart or get sprung too easy. I have had Clover clips since they were first sold and they are still good as new. The 100 in the pretty tin off brand, I have about 1/4 of them left.

I have both and the non clover ones work just fine, as Quiltingcandy said, for the price of 100 it’s worth the small investment. I have a basket full of them.

Default clover clips

I love my clips. I use them for binding and other things. I found one of the quilt shops had 100 of them for a reasonable price during a shop hop and I now have 150. They are worth the money.

I am glad to see this discussion on the clips. I have been really trying to decide if I want to purchase some or not and it looks like maybe the clover clips are the best. The JoAnn store near me does not carry them so will have to wait until I get to another quilt shop.

I have a few Clover clips of the larger size and find they get into the way under the needle. I bought a set of 50 small clips off of Publisher's Clearinghouse (LOL! PCH is my "gambling"--for the cost usually of a postage stamp I keep the PO in business and also hope to someday strike it big!) and like that size and they were only $14. I use when piecing and have some in my binding bag and use them there too. I find I use them more and more and think they were well worth the price. I think you can find similar clips at office supply stores and probably cheaper than quilting clips.

I have used them on hems of heavy fabric or leather while sewing, but, I don't care for them in my quilting except to keep small stacks of fabric and the number of the block together. I have taken to using them as hanger clips for my garments that like to slide off.
