    A simple pieced house would be fairly easy. Is the 16 x 16 piece to be used as a foundation, or cut into some of the pieces? Either way, think of fabric as your "paint." Sky = blue fabric on top third or quarter (sometimes you can even find cloud prints). Ground = green leafy or flowered fabric. For a house, you could use anything that looks as if it could be building material (stone, wood, stucco, paint, etc.).

    First, I would try to contact someone, perhaps the person whose fabric it is, because those are about the worst instructions ever. Is the block to be 16" square when finished, can it be smaller? Without doing applique I think she has given you an almost impossible task, at least it would be for me. Good luck.

    I'm lost you are in a quilt class. Why would the wont you to be drawing and coloring. it is quilt right.
