I love the color turquoise. I've used it in combination
with red and brown for a southwest quilt. I just finished
one in turquoise and black, very stark but very pretty.
I like turquoise jewelry too, I buy some whenever we go
out west. Turquoise just seems to go with a lot of other
colors too.

Icky. I will definitely not be following. That is one of the few colors I really do not like at all. :)

I like the color it goes with purple, so I may be adding some of this in the year to come.

I have been using small amounts of turquoise fabric for some punch in a lot of my scrap quilts in the last 2 years and there has not been alot of it out there to buy. I am glad to hear it is the latest color because then there will be some available. I used it in my first quilt over 25 years ago. I had a lot of rusts and browns and golds and my teacher suggested turquois for an accent and it was just what the quilt needed.
I buy what I like regardless of what is in.

I love the coppers, turquoise and beige combos. My favorite Aunt bought me a plaid dress so many years ago, Aunt Carlene was a treasure

Is anyone planning on adding more turquoise to their stash? Have you noticed a trend toward turquoise in stores (in general, not just fabric stores)?

The color of the year for 2009 was mimosa yellow. Did you add more yellow to your life this year?

What do you think? Should we care about this? Or is it just another form of marketing?
I work in the kitchen at school & just last week a lot of the kid's were coming through the line with turquoise tops & sweaters & I asked them if that was the new color or what. I guess I was on the right track. I like the color but probably won't add any to my stash unless I need it for a certain quilt.

I love Orange it has always been my favorite color, but I am diggin' the Turquoise. Since I am a Lostn51 kinda guy I like anything retro or 50's and if you remember Turquoise was all of the rage then. That and the Pinks and Silvers/Greys and the funky Green color that favored Turquoise. My wife bought a Christmas tree a few years back that is Turquoise and looks like a '57 Chevy sitting in the living room.

Will I add the color to my bevy of fabrics probably so.
