I am in the market for an embroidery machine. Since I am new to the embroidery scene, I was wondering if anyone could comment on the machines I have researched. I have seen the Baby Lock Sophia model and read about the Brother LC6800 and the Janome 200E. Do you have any preferences? Also, do you think it would be better to buy the machine from a local vendor where I can get some instruction or on line (where the cost is a little less, but no instruction). I am an experienced sewer and I don't want a machine that is too difficult. Thanks for all your help.

I don't have the Sohia by BabyLock, but I have the Esante and I love it. I also really like having my dealer where I can call and ask questions whenever I run into a problem also the Tech they have that works on Machines is a doll he has helped me numerous times with stupid questions I have had and never cracked a smile. So my advise buy close so you can get to the dealer if everything doesn't work right and some dealers give you the first cleaning free. I love Baby Locke.

I can't help with the machine, but I would highly recommend going to a dealer, they might even have a trade in, if you don't mind "used" machines.

I can't comment on the exact ones you've looked at but I have the Babylock Essante and love it. I would also recomment buying from your local dealer

For an embroidery machine, I would highly recommend the lessons you will receive from a dealer.
