Cone thread

Generally, you will have a stand that sits behind your machine that you place the large cone thread on and feed it thru your machine. Stands are available thru Clotilde and others, very inexpensively.

I use a thread stand, but I don't use the cheap Dritz one. I use one similiar to this one from Clotile's. http://www.clotilde.com/detail.html?...a=thread+stand
It is cast iron and much better. It won't bend and doesn't tip over.
