I looked at some yesterday and it seems the problem of the ones I was looking at the printing of the design is not straight so you would have to decide if you want to work with something like that.

Fabric seconds can mean a dye lot was not the exact color as the one before, sometimes the prints don't line up 100%, could be a thread leaves a little nub on the top of the fabric but, most of the time it's really hard to find the 2nd part. Top name companies cannot (or shouldn't) sell 2nds for top dollar, so they go elsewhere. Sometimes they are the first runs on lesser quality fabric to test out the new line of prints.

I purchased some last week and I can't tell that there is anything wrong with them. They look as good as the regular fabric. I bought some for backing because they were seconds, but I could use them for piecing too because there is nothing wrong with the ones I ordered.

I got some, they had indicated that the pattern was slightly irregular a few inches out from one selvage....I think it's fine. Unless I need long strips where imperfections would show, the ones I got will be fine. Since I intend to use them in a star sampler or whatnot, they will be great.

I have bought several yards and have yet to see that the flaw is a problem. The fabric I got is just wonderful for "seconds"---feels so nice.....

I didn't know they had seconds that they sell. Learn something new everyday. But, I did buy some what was supposed to be good fabric and it had little tiny flaws it. Not so noticable in 2 1/2 inch blocks though. I just gave them to my DH.

My problem with their seconds is that they cut them up and include them in their charm collections. I bought 6 different charm packs and the same 4-5 clearance fabrics kept showed up in everyone. I know a lot of people like their fabric ,but I was unimpressed by that practice and by their overall fabric quality. Everything else from them has always been perfect and I'll continue to buy many things from them--just not charm packs or fabric.
