10 winning comments from this weekends show! Some people are just too much !

    10) did someone make these..?
    9) did you make these?
    8) what do I do with this? ( it was a quilt)
    7) can you make this puffYier for me.? (it was made with warm natural)
    6) woman comments to her friend..."oh that is attrocious"
    5) woman whispers to her friend (I still heard her) "she uses a machine"
    4) "don't buy that I can show you how to make one"
    3) "why are they so thin". ( warm natural again)
    2) sorry I'm not into quilts
    1) by the quilt police herself...."You don't pre wash? You bind by machine". "uhuh I see, " and walks away

I just had to laugh about it I guess!!!

Love the sign that I saw at a craft show:

Of course you can make it yourself -
But when and for how much?

I like the ever popular (after examining for half an hour) I'm going to look around and I'll be back later to buy it. Riiiight, she's over in the corner making notes on how to make it. :|

if you are going to sell items made with fabric, you should always prewash the fabric!

I'm starting to quilt after making clothing my whole life and truthfully I like them puffier also to use, that is and wasn't "into" traditional country type quilts either. That doesn't mean I couldn't appreciate the craftsmanship, it's just not my "thing".

I think you have to have a thick skin when selling...or a sense of humor! Love the idea of posting answers to some of these questions.

Oh I SO need that sign! People are ALWAYS looking at my stuff for trophy ideas. It is very annoying, however I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing when one of the ladies told her friend that she was going to make some for trophies, but she was going to sew (applique) the dog from some cards that she had. Yes, she came back the next year to buy.

My dh did woodworking when we were younger and we used to set up at craft shows. I know what you are talking about. I think my favorite one what when a man and his wife came by our booth and she was admiring something when he commented " I can make that". She snapped right back " yes, but will you?". After they left, I laughed til I almost peed my pants. People are funny.

maybe she rolled her eyes because she did not believe you made it (obviously she thought it was store bought)

I would have reacted the same as you did.

Where's the picture of the Avitar quilt? My grandson is a fan of that show and I'd like to make him one.

Other than stone-washed jeans - just about everything "store-bought" is made from unwashed fabrics.

    11) Where did you get the pattern for that?

    12) Do you give discounts to senior citizens?

Seriously, though, there have been items I would have been happy to have purchased a pattern for if it had been available - even if I didn't want to purchase the finished item.

When they sneak out their CELL PHONES and start nabbing photos you KNOW what they are up to.
