LOL - If we don't sew during storms in Florida we'd never sw. During lightning however I would pass unless you have a high quality surge protector power strip that offers replacement of toasted items or the surge protector placed on your meter by the power company.

I sew as long as no lightening causing 'brown-outs'. Those are the little flickers we experience here in the country quite often. This is the main reason I want a treadle that works. I also have an expensive surge protector on my machine.

Brown outs are a real pain. They can sure do a number on the machines.

Wow, what next? I figure just trying to get that on him would tip us both over our last edge.
You need to get your dog a thundershirt! http://www.thundershirt.com

I have a surge protector on my computerized machine. If the storm is particulary bad I unplug everything. My sister just lost some very expensive items that were on a top of the line surge protector in a bad storm.. I have too much $$ tied up to risk it . My sisters recent experience changed my habits .. I used to think if Iwas on a surge protector everythng was fine.
