    you can always use a dresden wedge and extend it using your long ruler.

    Here is one that I made for my son and daughter-in-law who moved away from Ohio. (Don't want them to forget their roots!) Just 8 equal pieces from ready made quilted muslin with appliques alternating block O and trees.

    Keepsakes Quilting has a pattern that is a quilt-as-you-go one! It takes about 8 hours to do!
