Bonnie Hunter just includes a plain piece of fabric with hand written information and signature. She sews a folded triangle into the corner of the binding and uses a Pigma pen.

I just received a beautiful embroidered label from Sewnsewer2. My first label for a quilt that will be raffled off for Droopy Basset Hound Rescue.Originally Posted by dakotamaid

Dawn does my labels for me. I will be using them on all of my quilts now. Just a great addition for a very reasonable cost. This is the last one she made for me. This one went on the RWB quilt that Leesa quilted for me.

Another option. I have a book of quilt labels that can be heat printed ( like the old embroidery patterns) onto fabric and colored in with fabric pens. I think I bought the book at JoAnn's

Use Pigma pens and print what you want on your label. Surround it with a few hand drawn flowers, no need to be perfect, and you have a label. You can also purchase labels printed on yardage and fill in the particulars. Or make a friendship block and add the information in the signature area. You don't have to have an embroidery machine or an inkjet printer to make labels. You can use Pigma pens, permanent markers, or gel pens. Try them on a scrap of fabric and see which ones you like.

I have gotten her labels and she made me up some special ones for the front of a hanging I did. She even mailed me a replacement fast when I messed one up. She does wonderful work and is really easy to work with. I need to get more labels from her as soon as I start sewing things again.Originally Posted by dakotamaid

I've gotten a few different labels made from Sterling Name Tape. You can design your own...they are nice quality and great service. There is a set up fee for the first time order, but they keep that on file so you don't pay for it again on reorders.

Can you embroider? I like to customize my labels for the receiver.

I live less than a mile from her. I can call her and describe what I want and just leave the rest up to her judgement and either she delivers or I pick it up and the label is always just what I wanted. If I felt that I needed to see the label prior to her making it, she would email it to me and I could make any changes I wanted (BUT, I have never needed to make any changes).Originally Posted by dakotamaid

I get my embroidered labels from a person I met here on the board. She does a great job. Sends examples via email and gets them in the mail quick. And I think they are inexpensive. PM me for her contact information.
