If you truly hate doing the conversions, there are inexpensive calculators that will do the conversions for you.

Did not know about that one -

Was in a remedial math class - surprising how many people thought 5/16 was more than 2/3 because the numbers were bigger!

I have quilted for over 25 years and the only strange fractional numbers I remember encountering are for HST. That is so easily resolved by just rounding up from 7/8 to a whole number.

my husband would say he could sit right down beside them and go to sleep! actually he was very good with fractions.
