Looks really good the way you have it. And I would not add a row . Your "7x9" is a good ratio, plenty big for a play mat or for a child to cuddle up with.

Reading over the responses, people like different things. Your opinion matters most. So do what you like best. Be confident.

By the way, there's lots of ways to save a plan that's not working. I'd suggest pulling out one of those UFO's and get opinions on them.

My vote goes to the middle arrangement (#2), to me it looks more balanced and pleasing.

After a quick look, I liked the first one best but more importantly, I hope you can find a way to not be so critical of your own work or soon this won't be much fun for you. One thing I have discovered for me is that sometimes even when I feel discouraged about how a quilt is turning out, once I get it quilted and do the binding, it looks better than I thought it would. So I hope you will try to just go ahead and finish this quilt without over thinking it, quilt and bind it, then see what you think!

Well said! That is what I was thinking. First, I love what you finally came up with your layout. Get out your UFO's and look again. I'll bet they are great!

Haave you thought about the "trip around the world?" Start in the middle with a square of which you just have one, probably dark red. Then border it with one which has 8 blocks. Then border it with the next color of which you have enough to border the center. Like start with a dark red Then do he green and make another two. Then probably pink. Then yellow and then orangey. and the rest of the red.

bkay...I love the layout in post 39. You did good. I even like the white blocks. They add a beautiful contrast.

I looked at the arrangement on 39 and I like that really well. Think you have your problem solved.
