I was admiring Sue Fors's Bali Pops quilt this morning, she used a design from Anne Bright. Check out her website, she has some really fun designs! <no affiliation>

I use paper pantographs, but if you have a computerized machine you can purchase digital patterns. Here are a few websites that offer both: http://www.longarmsupplies.net/linda...hpatterns.aspx,
    http://www.goldenthreads.com/shop/category/pantographs/,
    http://www.annebright.com/shop/categ...ized-designs/.

These are a few that I have purchased from, however there are several others out there as well.

You might take a look at http://www.daystyledesigns.com/365project.htm
I get a lot of ideas from her website.

Donna, the best practice for FMQ designs to translate well to quilting is to practice drawing them free hand. Just pick up pencil and paper and doodle doodle doodle. You really do develop "muscle memory" with this technique. When you get to the point that you can doodle the same motif without even thinking about it, like a feather or a flower you will find you can LA it as easily as you doodle it! At least this works for me.
