My dh went to a knife and gun auction in Milford DE, and was the high bidder on a featherweight made in 1948!!! for $160!!!! She has a bit of a musty/oil storage odor , and he will be taking care of her needs. She joins 4 sisters, we may be putting one out for adoption to a good home, if I can bear to part with one. I am looking for names, I am thinking Little Lucy, I have Little Lula already, Goldie Oldie (from 1930's), and Sexy (1960's). Right now I am calling her Little Stinker. Any suggestions for my new girl?

Does every gun and knife auction have featherweights too? That is so funny. Your DH is a sweety and a keeper.

What a sweetie. I received mine for Mother's day from my Hubby. She's a 1948 also. I love taking her to class. She's nice and easy to carry! It's funny, she was born the same year as my mother. I thought about naming her Sharon, after her, but mom and I seem to have love/hate relationship sometimes and I did NOT want to jinx my new baby!

You know that money probably came out of his mad money for a gun or knife that he was hoping to buy at the show... He deserves a special dinner tonight! What a catch!

Here is a pic of Lucky Lady sitting outside.
I can't wait to begin cleaning her up and see how she runs.

I was looking for a 1948 as that is the year I was born. I settled for a 51 and I love her too.

First of all, I want to know what "DH" stands for. Can't be the same thing my daughter calls her ex.

Oh my goodness she is absolutely beautiful! Just when we think we have enough beauties to satisfy our wishes, another machine begging to join our tribe comes along. Hey! We aren't hurting anyone and as my father used to joke, "it keeps us from running around loose on the streets!". Congratulations. Don

Wow! That is a really nice machine for a good price. I'm taking my featherweight to a class today. You will enjoy it, I'm sure.

Lucky has been tuned up, oiled, and ready to get to work. She is so quiet, I did some crumb squares with her yesterday. Thank you all for the kind words in welcoming Lucky into her new home.
