I so agree. Mine have names because I think it is fun and I spend a lot of time with them!😁

I hadn't thought about it but sounds ok to me. I will get help from my daughter who comes up with the best names. She always has so many animals to name. Her car is named Fiona and she even gave all the rats she works with in Diabetic Research names.

My DGD has a cat that they have named "Girl Kitty". I think the cat deserves a real name. Naming our sewing machines makes life fun, after all I spend many hours a day in front of my machine, why not give it a name. I wouldn't sit in front of my husband and call him DH all the time. Some people take life too seriously, why not have a little fun each day.

I feel like naming inanimate objects is up there with men naming their “willies”. Not for me.

I have never named my machines. Just "my Janome" and my "featherweight".

I agree that we should all have some fun in our lives. It’s subjective, tho’. People don’t get to tell me what I consider fun and I don’t get to tell them.

I don’t care if people name their machines; if you enjoy it that’s great. It should be ok to have an opinion about it one way or another.

I named my featherweights Lizzie and Maggie after my great grandmothers that inspired me to quilt. My other machines are not named.
