I got a new Juki TL2010q a couple months ago but haven't been able to spend too much time with her yet (just busy with various other things). I haven't named her yet but definitely plan to when the right name comes to me. And since she is my 2nd machine, I'm thinking my little Brother cs6000i now needs a name since it's not my only machine now. I think it's all in good fun. I also name my cars, current one is "Fancy" - and no, she's not really - just a 2014 Nissan Murano - but shes a beautiful merlot-like color, fancy enough! :-)

Mine have names just for fun. I have several. I have a 1951 Featherweight named Lily, a 1964 white Featherweight named Elsa, a 1949 Featherweight that I had painted red named Ruby and a 1934 Featherweight named Isabelle. My Bernina 440 is named Diva because I got her as a divorce present for myself and she's "all that", my Bernina 765SE is named Rosie (Rose-gold) and my Juki is named Nelli because sometimes she goes so fast all I can think is "Whoa Nellie!!". They're just fun..........my husband thinks I'm crazy but that's what he loves about me.

My Juki is Vivian after my grandmother who left me a small legacy that enabled me to purchase the machine. The other is Little Brother.

I sometimes call it names...especially when I mess up. Does that count?

I only name my FWs, too. First one is 'Little Jewel ' because that was one of my father's favorite expressions for something he really liked. Second FW was a gift and I'm still working on a name for her.

My first Bernina is Whit, since it was purchased in Whittier, CA (1975). DH found an identical, but very lightly used, twin in Coure d'Alene, ID (2005), named Alene, of course. The Singer I brought home from my mother's estate (for class use, as it weighs a lot less), will always fondly be Mother's.

I named my first(Singer 404) Beulah. A nice basic name for a nice straightforward straight stitcher! The 15-91 that I'm still waiting on shellac to get delivered to the hardware store(Friday) to finish touching up the desk she came in, is now being called Betsy. My 348 has been named Chance, namely due to the fact of how off my chances have been at getting him a new plate for the front... Last but not least, I have two 201-2's but neither have been named as yet b/c they're still getting fixed up.

Thanks for starting this, I like hearing the names and the "why's" behind them!
