I hope these suggestions are helpful; I think quilts with blocks of different sizes are so interesting. I will be anxious to see yours. And, feline fanatic, your quilts are great; I especially like the first one. It has so much visual impact without sashing.

I always wanted to make an orphan quilt, but just did not know how to get started. Then I found this wonderful explanation. Simply put, you create sections (say 24 inches wide by whatever length), and then connect the sections to create your quilt

Thank You everyone for all your replies. I am going to try these. Hopefully it comes out right. I love all the pictures of everyones quilts. At my age (80) I have to hurry and make as many quilts as I can. I should have started making quilts 40 years ago.
