always away from me! Use an Omni Edge ruler--it has a 'lip' on it that catches on the edge of your mat. It's like an extra hand!!

If you are having trouble cutting away from you, check the height of your cutting surface and invest in an Olipfa ruler with the edge or lip that grabs your cutting board. A cutting surface at the wrong height makes the cutting job difficult. The edge gripping rulers are wonderful and I put the little sticky plastic dots or Invisgrip on my rulers to avoid slipping. I am a fast accurate cutter but last night at my LQS I was using their equipment and it was awkward. The table was too high for me, the cutter blade was dull and the ruler had no edge. It was a slow tough job.

I am a lefty but can cut with either hand makes cutting simple, don't have to worry which way the fabric is laying. but no matter what hand I use it's cutting away.
