I bought a gripper from Harbor Tools to put on my ruler. Now I can grip it well enough to sit and cut.

I have to sit as well. True quilters will do anything to keep quilting. :)

I use the Martelli cutter when I sit and cut. My olfa makes my wrist hurt when I sit, but the Martelli ergonomic one works just fine :)

When I can't stand up long enough to cut with my rotary, I go old school and use scissors. Also dangerous but easy to accomplish while seated.

I can sit and cut or trim small squares and pieces but no big ones. Not enough umpf in the leverage.

I am disabled and I have to sit to cut, press, sew, whatever. You will learn from experience if you need to make any adjustments to get your cutting to come out right - I use an architects drafting table I found on sale which allows me to tilt it up when I am copying patterns and lie it flat when cutting. It is on wheels which means I can roll it right next to my sewing machine. I use a Cut N Press on it so also have my iron next to me while sewing. Quilters are a creative lot and you can find a multitude of methods to accomplish anything!

I find that my accuracy is off if I cut while sitting. I have to stand looking directly over the fabric and ruler when I cut. Even then I have to rest every once in a while because my back starts to ache.

I always stand while cutting. It does get to my back but I just stop and do something else if I need a rest then go back to cutting. i find I just don't get accurate pieces if I'm not standing.
