I can sit and cut using the Martelli Ergo. I know I sound like someone who is working for the company, but NO, I just love the cutter. I can cut up to 6 layers sitting down.

I sit unless I'm trying to square up a really big block. Then sometimes it's easier to stand.

I stand to make the long cuts across fabric, then I sit to do the smaller cuts. I use a rotary mat (lazy susan type.
Have bad back and knees. Sitting is a must.

I have a cutting table that is 36" tall and I often use a stool to sit and cut.

I cannot sit and cut, however, I do sit to pin baste my quilts. I have terrible pain if I bend over for too long.

I also have tried cutting while sitting and didn't work to well.
