Red face Color of Thread you use

I was just wondering what color of thread you us when piecing. I only have 2 colors tan and gray. I find that these work with everything. Makes ordering new thread easy. I also only use Aurifil. I have used others in the past but they seemed to have a lot more lint in my machine. Aurifil doesn't seem to have as much lint. Thanks for letting me know what you use.

I tend to use beige and gray too because they are neutral. Although if it isn't an 'important' quilt, I just use whatever color is closest in the type of thread I want. (I piece with cotton, but I quilt 50/50 with cotton or poly depending on what I'm doing.)

Tan & grey it is! My first quilting teacher said she only ever used grey but I use tan depending on the color & shade of the fabric. I am interested I Aurifil. Somehow I have only just fou d out about this thread. I thought Mettler was good thread because my LQS started carrying it a year or so ago. Is Aurifil worth the money? Where do you buy it?
    Thanks!

I have white, gray and black for piecing. And only Aurifil - love that stuff.

aurifil is terrific. A spool seems expensive, but seems to last forever!

I usually use tan for piecing. I have multiple spools of various shades of tan Aurifil handy so I keep one on my machine ready to make bobbins, another in my machine(s), a few in my "to go" caddy, and a few in my thread drawer. I have Mettler and Presencia brands as well, both sold by my LQS as high quality, but I prefer Aurifil.

I used to use ecru but I found that it stood out against several fabrics. I was out once and used a light, sagey green and it blends better than any other color I've used so far.
