I machine stitch the raw edge of the binding and hand stitch the other side. Usually hand stitch the front as I like the look it gives.

Machine the binding to the front. Turn to the back. Hand stitch. Just like the way it looks when done.

I sew by machine to front and hand stitch to the back. I lean to the perfectonist side. Could never machine stitch evenly enough for me.

I machine bind on the front and hand stitch the binding on the back. I can sit with the DH in the evenings and complete each quilt this way. I enjoy the hand stitching on the binding and hand quilt some part of each and every quilt. I am getting better at it - not really small stitches yet but they are uniform - usually about 7 to an inch. However, I have only been quilting for about 2 years after retiring from teaching. On this one, I hand quilted around all the details in each block and machine quilted around the borders. I just finished it - took me 2 months from start to hand sewing the binding on the back.

Machine bind most wall hangings, but nearly all quilts machine sewn to the front and hand sewn to the back - and I HATE hand sewing, lol.

Since most of the quilts I've made to date went to Quilts For Kids, they have been completely machine stitched as that is what QFK requests. I've done a couple where I hand stitched the back but did not enjoy the process and, frankly, I think the machine stitching is a lot more secure. I can make it look nice with the hand stitches, but I don't think the stops and starts that you need to do by hand make the binding very secure.

I machine bind my quilts. I got some of the clover clips and love them. When you use them you can see just where your stitches are going to be so your binding always come out just right.

I machine stitch the binding to the front and then turn to the back and hand stitch. One of the favorite times. I get to sit the quilt on my lap and enjoy it for a while before I give it away. Best of both worlds!

Machine stitch to the front, then hand stitch to the back. I feel that I get a better looking final product and I love to do the hand work.
