They are great. My grandson has a set of red sheets that always used to bleed when washed. Now, I throw in a color catcher and when it bleeds the color catcher catches it.

    Color catches-
Does this take the place of sythpol (sp?) The stuff you put in the washer after you dye fabric?

I have used them when washing quilts with lots of vibrant colors (hmm....most of my quilts) and have been very pleased. No color running and the sheet comes out with my quilt colors on it so I think they work wonderfully. Certainly better than holding my breath when I remove a newly washed quilt from the machine.

Yes they do work. Been using them for years and have saved many articles of clothing from the dreaded color bleed.

I don't think the testers were quilters.

Thanks to everyone who has given me their opinion.
Much appreciate it. I will look for a new box at the grocery store.

I heard that plain muslin works. I also have used Shout colorcatchers and would not wash without them. I use maybe 4 or 5 per quilt also, but I intend on trying the muslin along with, to see what happens.

I use them in laundry but treat suspect fabrics ahead of time with Retayne; it works. Some fabrics will bleed every time they are washed unless pretreated.
