Do you always iron your fabric before you cut it?

I always always always iron it - if I don't it comes out of the dryer looking like a ball of aluminum foil lol... more like an aluminum foil log when all the different pieces get all swirled up around there and it amasses in to a giant fabric log thing.

i always wash and iron my material with a light touch of starch cant think of any other way to do it
i know this sounds boring or crazy but when i buy my material the first thing i do before it goes into my sewing room is wash and dry it then it goes on a special shelf i have and when that shelf gets kinda full and i have a day set aside with nothing important to do i will iron all my material till the stack is gone and put away on the shelf with the other material!! and i feel like i have accomplished something that day !!
lol i need to get a life !!!!!

wash, dry, then iron before shelving, or if I am using it immediately, I starch and let soak in, then iron.
I feel that if I "press", before cutting, that if it is going to shrink any more, or distort or whatever, it is far better to do it, before I have made a cut.
I am probably the only one that handles my pieces like they are glass and might break if I drop them. I don't make them stiff, so I don't want to stretch them.
I suppose in time, I will get more comfortable. I cringe every time I see a picture with a pet on it. I keep thinking that the weight is going to stretch or warp the project!
I guess not, or ppl would be freaking out. I never hear them doing that
