Do you always iron your fabric before you cut it?

I always iron before cutting. I am working on a quilt now that has 22 different fabrics in all the blocks Except for the background, I didn't have much to iron as it was two small pieces. If it is 1-2 yards I usually iron the whole piece. If it is a large piece, I iron some beyond what I need. Usually I iron one piece of fabric at a time, cut what I need, then get the next fabric.

To me, not ironing the fabric before cutting it would be like putting the dishes away without washing them.

I never wash but do iron all my fabrics - before cutting and throughout the piecing process - my daughter always tells me I iron too much, but I think there's no such thing :)
I only starch when I'm going to be cutting small pieces but rarely when I'm making blocks out of larger pieces.
