Does anyone know if the glue works on the polyester fluffy batting also or only on the cotton?

Easy enought to try it on a small sample...I only have cotton and wool here to try.
I bought a small bottle with fine tip yesterday at Hobby Lobby 3 small bottles and three tips for 2.99, pretty cheap looking though...hope they hold up....nice fine tips small dots of glue....will be great for binding.

We don't have liquid washable Elmer school-type glue here, so I use a washable glue stick. I make quick lines from the center to the side on one side about every 4 inches (backing and batting first, then the same thing for the quilt top and batting), smooth the layers, then do the other side.

I've done this with fleece backing and no batting as well. It is great!

I am ready to be brave and try BUT
does anyone use this method and HAND quilt? I keep seeing machine quilting comments...just want a personal testimony before I try this... thnks in advance

Yes, it can be used and does work on poly batting. I just used it. I also had to hand quilt a small quilt and I did have a few places that were harder to needle than others, I could still do it. I also had to thin my glue because my hand was cramping from squeezing the bottle so much.

I only hand quilt on my bindings. Yes, it does work. Although the first time I did it, I applied too much glue which caused a problem.

This is what is in Elmer's spray adhesive - I took this from their website MSDS - it is the same can of ingredients as in the 505/JT/Dritz stuff.

This is the question that I have - does the elmers glue get into your machine via the needle - I would love to try this method but am little worried about this - thanks

I recently glue-basted a massive king size quilt - 10 feet square. I taped the backing down, spread the batting first, then peeled it back in halves to sling glue down on the backing; I was aiming for something like picture A but it was a lot messier than that. Then repeat for the top and just let it sit and dry for awhile. FMQ'd the whole thing and it turned out great! (aside from my poor FMQ skills) I actually have it on my bed right now and I haven't washed the glue out - my washing machine is too small to fit that monster but my DH couldn't wait to have it on the bed, LOL, so we're sleeping under a gluey quilt until I remember to take it to the laundrymat. I can't tell that the glue is still in there at all, and it got pretty heavy in spots. I didn't dilute it, either, just squeezed it out of the bottle in a thin drizzly line while I stood above the quilt and just sort of slung and flung it around. It was kind of an experiment, to see how sloppy I could get with the glue and still have good results...answer seems to be - really sloppy!

I have a large bottle of elmers school glue. It cost me £70 that is seventy pounds.
How much do you put on. Is it a little drop like a pin head or a drop like a finger nail.
When I tried I watered. Down glue and my blobs were finger nail size and the glue seeped through the material and made hard marks. I was terrified and washed project and went back to my 505. I wish I could sort it out..
Question is PVa school glue the same please?
