Sometimes sewing big projects can drive one crazy, so yes! It makes sense to work on no-brainer projects in between. Takes the stress off an extremely complex project I'm working on, so an easy project eg cushion covers, table runners etc can give me that instant gratification of having achieved something. And when I feel destressed finishing up a small project, I'll have more energy or motivation to work on that big project I was working on.

You mention you make rag rug balls, can you tell me how you do this? Another way to use up fabric? That is a great idea, how do you do it? Thanks. Finished up the doll quilt just this morning, not sure if I am ready for something big just yet.

I have been teaching myself smocking lately, so that is my in between machine sewing hobby. I like the idea of learning something new that I can maybe add to a quilt later.
