I envy those of you who are able to move from project to project. I am over disciplined about finishing stuff (quilts, cleaning, sewing, reading a book and so on) before I start something new. It is good habit to get into, but I sometimes don't ever get to something spontaneous and fun because I'm so hard on myself about finishing stuff before I start something new. I guess it's nice that I have few UFOs but I sometimes finish stuff I hate just to get it done. No idea where this came from, but I've always been like this!!! LOL

Do whatever you feel like doing whenever you feel like doing it. I always have several projects going at once, sometimes I do a lot of cutting, then piecing, then quilting or anywhere in between. When one projects starts giving me fits, I change projects. I also try to vary what I'm making to put less strain on my arms and back, as I have carpal tunnel in both hands, and I just had rotator cuff repair in my right shoulder done in May. By varying what I do I put less strain on my body parts, and it keeps me from getting bored.

Buckle down???? Oh hon, you need to totally lighten up on yourself. Quilting is supposed to be relaxing and fun. If it's not, you need to back up and reassess. Quilting isn't a race. You're not required to finish anything.

I hop around from one thing to another, too. When I have a project that NEEDS to be finished, I have to keep at it, but after that, I try lots of differnt projects and fabrics. I like baby quilts, but I also like wall hangings, bags, placemats, BIG quilts.....! Just have fun!!
