Don't know if it's just a case of laziness or what, but I'm not choosing to make a lot of the patterns I see.
The pics are pretty, but is it full of HSTs? How many seams? Is it a... so-called easy quilt? Been there & done that.....didn't work easy for me.
Seems like my mind has to dissect a pattern before I'll consider it.Maybe too many HSTs have just worn me out? ;)

Yes, I'm all for easy these days. I find my attention span has gone awry, and I just don't want to spend a lot of time doing tedious things. I've been doing a lot of charity quilts so don't want complicated and time consuming.

I go for the smaller more complicated quilts as it slows me down. I already have more quilts than I know what to do with.

I'm passing more as the price goes up and the instruction is less in depth. I guess they're trying to save on paper.

Plus I already have so many patterns and ideas from here--I'll never be able to do them all!

I enjoy doing complicated looking patterns. New York Beauty, Mariners Compass, and I'm thinking of ordering the Omigosh pattern. I have started Dear Jane and work on her once in a while. Hope I live long enough to finish some of there!! lol

My Mom just finished her Dear Jane, it took her about 2 years. It is gorgeous. She did have to hand piece some of the blocks, you just can't do some of them with a machine. Good luck to you! Send pics when you're done.

Not only am I passing on patterns, I've stopped several magazine subscriptions. I have a ton of patterns marked in books, magazines and individual that I want to do. Am seriously trying to get projects finished this year. There's just SO much out there.

I buy very few patterns. I think some are easy to figure out just by looking at the pic and I'm not by any means an expert!
Also with all the free patterns here and elsewhere online I don't feel the need to.
Same goes for books and mags.

I do the same ... I've either GOT something very similar to it already or I will analyze how hard it may be be to put together. Sometimes I need quick and easy - and other times I want to do something more challenging ... :)
