Thanks for all the input. It has all been informative. And all the websites that were given to check out. I will be watching e-bay, this board and where ever else I might find one. Even thrift stores. Never know what you can find there.

I don't have any health issues, but I still have a hard time cutting straight with rulers, and I find it very frustrating when the ruler slips. Then I had a mat with slits in it every 1/2 inch, but sometimes the fabric wasn't folded right underneath and I got waves in my cut lines.

Then I got a QuiltCut. I love it. I wouldn't be able to do the quilting I'm doing today without it. One reader said she didn't use the T-bar, but that's the whole beauty of it! I don't use it for angles much, I just turn my blocks and use the lines on the mat to trim angles.

All in all, I say worth every penny!

We use the big "pro" version for all our store cutting. We love it and wouldn't be without it, it allows us to make all our yardage cuts true and straight. And the Altos replacement mats are pretty reasonably priced.

One thing we did add that helped even more was putting Omni's InvisiGrip material on the undersides of the T-rulers. With long cuts on the big cutting T's it helps prevent any little side-slipping that may occur.

For the price of a Quilt Cut 2, I think an Accuquilt Go! would be just a better buy! I just received my Accuquilt Go last week, and it is so amazingly fast to cut out anything!

yes but the dies are so expensive and you need several different ones.

That is why I opted for the QuiltCut. I felt that they dies were expensive, limiting and wasted fabric.

Yes it was a must have, and guess what I have never used it but now that you mention it I will have to dig it out :lol:

I absolutely LOVE my Alto's QuiltCut2. Yes, I have arthritis in my hands and have trouble working with rulers. With the Alto's I am accurate and I don't need to use a lot of pressure. I put mine on top of my cutting table so it is the correct height. I can cut out quickly and accurately. I can do various shapes as the cutting guide does adjust to the different angles.

It was more than worth the investment. Several friends have ended up with one too. We each have our own reasons: 1 person uses it as she has hand tremors, another because of her eyesight, and on it goes.
