Yes. I am taking a classinapplique techniques and the first project was Sun Bonnet Sue. I have always wanted one but never got one, so I am making one for my great niece for her Christmas present in greens and purples. The hats are all the same fabric with different hat bands and instead of the bow at the back I will be attaching a silk rose. All the Sunbonnet Sue's will be appliqued onto on off white or ivory colored background. Once I am ready, my quilting teacher said she will show me how to quilt the blocks as I go. Then all I would have to do is to add the binding and label. Jeanniebelle

I haven't make one yet, but we heard this week that my daughter is expecting a little girl (Jippee!!) and I am planning to make her a Sunbonnet Sue quilt. Annaquilts, I like your quilt. Can you perhaps give us the name of the book? I like the variety of the Sue's. (What is the little boys called?)LOL

I have a Sunbonnet Sue top, appliqued and embroidered by my grandmother and aunts in the late 1920's - early 1930's quessing i should find a back for it and finish it..some of the shashing is done on a tredele(sp) and some by hand....and it is that green, i guess if i took it to the LQS i could find a backing that is similar to one of the prints....i know the background history of most of the prints used because my aunts told me all about it back in the early 1950's
