the very first quilt I made was Sue and Sam, 30 blocks. I embellished the costumes with lace and rickrack, embroidered French knots on one dress, braided a fine hemp to make a hat band for one of the Sam's hats, added a patch on a couple of his pants, and gave it to my adopted daughter. It is still the favorite of all the quilts I've made. She has never put it on a bed. Soooo disappointing.
