I just stumbled on this thread again after a few years, I might say. I found the tutorial from Baskets4moo to make chicken pincushions out of salvages, but not a picture of a finished chicken. Can any one direct me to a photo? I am interested in giving them a try.

I'm saving my salvages for a library book wallhanging to go on the Library door. Using them for the titles on each book. Saw this done and thought it a great idea. Don't know when I'll get the wallhanging started but at least I've got the salvages if and when I do.

I toss them - too much trouble to save and where would I put them. Some things need to be tossed. Otherwise they take up precious space.

The thread for the tutorial is many pages long. Selvage or Funky Chicken Pincushion
A couple that I found on that thread, there may be others.

Life is too short! But if that makes someone happy, go for it.

I feel guilty throwing out perfectly good fabric. And there's a lady at the guild who makes most of her things scrappy or selvages. So when I have a supply, I forward to her. During a class, she collected all the leftovers. It helps my guilty pleasures.

I keep the ones with titles in a big bowl and on occasion when I need inspiration for a haiku I randomly pull out a selvage and write around whatever the title is.

peace
