I wash all fabric as soon as I bring it home. Most of the time I damp dry, then iron. I do enjoy the process, though sometimes I scold myself for buying something just because it was on sale. I find it takes minimal ironing before using the fabric later. If I simply smooth and fold the fabric after washing, it retains a lot of wrinkles which are Very stubborn to steam out months or years later.

I love ironing, especially as I make blocks, it allows me to admire the beauty of the fabric and how well they go together, love it.

I, too, enjoy the ironing. Not sure why but I do!

I consider ironing, folding and arranging my stash my meditation time. I love smelling the steam from the fresh pressed fabric. Ironing clothes is different because you have to think.

Getting the stash together is just relaxing. You are not alone!

You are also touching fabric and seeing the patterns and colors of each individual piece. It is a great time to appreciate the beauty of the fabric and yes the smoothness of the fabric shows off that beauty better.

ALL ironing? Boy, do I have a treat for you - one ENORMOUS ironing pile... sometimes discover my kids have outgrown their clothes while waiting for them to be ironed

Oh my goodness, did you make me laugh. I found a bolt of Moda fabric that is several years old at a fabric store that went out of business that is just beautiful. I normally don't plan around using blues but this fabric is in the old antique blue shade that I couldn't resist. What is so funny is that I was shopping with my sister that day and when we got home she did throw that bolt in the floor and waller. I haven't figured out what to do with it as of yet but it is still one of my favorite fabrics.

Count me in on that too. That simple tactile task is delightful, isn't it? Just a few minutes with a spray bottle, and voila! lovely fabric ready to create. Sweet.

However, like many, I only iron it once just before I cut it. When I was younger, I never really enjoyed ironing but then again, I wasn't creating anything new and wonderful with it either.

OK folks, clue me in here. What's a waller? Not a good thing, I'm thinking.
