With the price of gold what it is I'd probably have to melt that down. LOL
    Just kidding.

That is exactly what the heirs are doing to recapture the gold!! Selling their heritage for a few pennies.

Yes, I, too, have fabric that I don't want to cut. Some fabrics, though, seem to multiply in the closet and I have bits and pieces of them for years. And all I want to do is use the fabric up.

I have some that I just take out and handle now and then. Someday the right pattern will come along.

Nope! If I love a fabric, I find a way to use it. The ones that hang around a long time aren't my favorites.

Sometimes I think I am a fabric collector rather then a quilter. I love some of my fabric and just can't cut into it.

People really do that???? I was just joking! I didn't even know it could be done. If these fabrics are part of your heritage that's fantastic! Perhaps they could be folded to a managable size and framed in large frames if you don't want to cut them. Wouldn't that be beautiful!! They would truly be works of art. If you have several you could have them all put in matching frames and do a collage on your wall. It would be a wonderful way to display your heritage and their beauty.

I know what you mean. I have several that I bought last year that I have not used yet. Just have to feel them a bit longer.

I have been dying to put my hands into some silk from India. Can I go visit you and help you cut?

You know how when you make Mac & Cheese it's not good until it sets for a few minutes and sort of all creams up and soaks in? Well, sometimes fabric is like that, it just has to wait until exactly the right moment for it's purpose to be fulfilled.

Okay so maybe not but it's my story and I'm sticking to it.
