For his next birthday or anniversary or Christmas, you should buy him a really cool mechanical pencil....or would that be too modern for him???

You could get another sharpener for upstairs.

I keep pencils that short, too.

LOL, for years at school we threw out pencils 3 inches long and shorter so kids would be able to print properly. As it turns out some kids can print better with the short pencils! Your DH knows what works best!

To each his own is my opinion.

My DH does almost all my cutting, but he is a rotary cutter man all the way. He prefers the Tru-Cut rulers but has to resort to regular for triangles etc.

I still like to sketch up a quick idea with a pencil, but if you got him EQ7, he would be HOOKED. Check out my post about 10 min ago. You should be able to find it by my name. BTW, EQ7 is 20% off at the EQ website through Monday, I think. Frame those pencils and go modern. :0)

Anyway he won't throw any pencils out until they are so small the pencil sharpener eats them. He keeps a bundle of them like this and when they are all dull he hands them to me to sharpen.

I was using one today and thought you would all get a kick out of it.

I can't help but respond! Those pencils are just fine. As long as they are longer than your first finger they are not nubs and can be sharpened. I am a teacher and that is my rule. I appreciate the fact he saves what works instead of chucking it into the landfill. Besides, husband and wife that share an activity are precious beyond comparison. <3
