Has anyone made a book bag with a flap, using husbands flight suits?

My pattern is the mini bow tuck. (11x10x5) It seems like it will be a nice size. The regular bow tuck is larger like a tote bag.
I see you are from Eau Claire. I am in Chippewa. I know Mary at the Cotton Club had the pattern a couple of months ago. You could call her to see if she still has them. Or maybe try the Calico Shop. Mill End used to have a lot of patterns. I haven't been in there for a year or so.

I use mine every day. I have about 6 (some are seasonal bags )different ones. I'm always switching them around. I always get the nicest compliments on them.

My DD uses hers everyday. She is a teacher so it is filled one might even say stuffed. I did not put zippers in mine. I made 8 last year for Christmas presents and sold one at our Church Bazaar.

I use mine daily and get compliments on it pretty much where ever I go. I don't use the zipper closure, but use the
magnetic snap closure and things stay in just fine.

Ok here is the one I told you all about earlier. I just finished it a little bit ago! I just need a button on it now. I am finding that the fusible batting is thicker then I thought it should be. But I like it a lot though.

Just curious, do you like it with or without the zipper? And,if you use it without a zipper, does the contents fall out a lot?
Ditto, except I bought mine and the only time stuff falls out is if it is flung into the back seat of the car or I stop abruptly, but I'm not careful about making sure the magnetic clasp is closed. That would help. I have 3 and have bought 2 for gifts. Not sure I would have the time or patience to make my own. To give credit where due, I bought mine from Denise, here on the Board. I love this place :-)
